Battery compartment cleanup

I just cleaned up 3 inches of battery acid powder. With a soft wire brush and a face mask it looks pretty good. What now can I spray on it to neutralize it and remove any residue that is left. Thanks , Jeff

Make up a solution of water + baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)---maybe 4 or 5 tablespoons per quart. Spray it on. When the effervescence ceases, all acid has been neutralized. Wear eye protection for safety.
