C2 with Air Conditioning RH air vent

    I need a RH air vent for a 1966 coup with A/C.
You can purchase a RH vent (non-A/C) on e-bay for $24.95 used and new from multiple vendors for about $50.
RH with A/C from Paragon for $95 and on e-bay for $149.
Is is possible (or reasonable anyway) to modify the non-A/C vent to function as the vent with A/C, or should I just belly up the $95? From the pictures it does not look like it would be that hard?

Joe, just to clarify. I looked at LIC and viewed their RH AC duct, it's $270.00 (has the flapper and the flapper control lever). The other model is $145.00 (and has no flapper or flapper control).

What are you looking at for $50 or $95??????

Not the duct Harry, I was probably not clear enough.
I need the plastic vent grill with the slats in it that is above the kick panels as pictured below.
The first picture is a vent for an A/C car and the second is a vent for non-A/C off of the internet.
Just wondering if I could cut the vents out of the top half of the non-A/C to get a reasonable A/C vent and save a little $$$?

I'll share a secret with you on how they were originally made. When an AC car came down the line they took a non-AC car vent in one hand and a hacksaw in the other and cut the vent out.

The vent on my 63 feels just like they did that.

          Thanks Harry,
Looks to me like this should be easy. In judging I wonder the result would be. Why did they cut this part out anyway. I must be missing something here.

I was actually pulling you leg a bit. That grill does have a different PN in the AIM. But I believe you can make one and no one would notice.

There is a cable that runs almost through the center of the hole.
