Soft top latch won't stay closed

The front driver's side of my '61 soft top latch likes to pop open. I have adjusted the latch to no avail. I even shaved off a little of the rubber weatherstrip on the front header on that side.
Have any of you had that problem on C1s? Any suggestions?

Art, Check the lever rivets to see if they are still intact. My friend 60 did the same thing and the pivot rivet on the handle was loose.

Are you sure you have soft top latches? Hard top latches will sometimes do what you have described. I know, been there done that

Thanks for the suggestions. They are soft top latches. Pat, the rivets were snug and in good shape but your suggestion gave me an idea. I exchanged the latch with the one on my '57. They are supposed to be the same and they sure looked identical. When I put the '57 latch on the '61 it closed good with no chance of popping open. When I put the '61 latch on the '57 it closed just as it did with the original. My guess is that the latches were just slightly different or that stress over the years had changed the operation of the '61 latch. Anyway, all is good.
