Recently I posted about removal of a weeping radiator. While I await the arrival of my new DeWitts aluminum radiator ( 1 - 2 weeks), does anyone have any suggestions about replacing the water pump (while access is optimum)? I'm the original owner, so I know the pump is original. I'm not trying to create a Top Flight, just a close-to-original, good looking, dependable driver.
I see replacement pumps for around $100 or less from Zip or Ecklers. Zip has a rebuild kit for $65.
Suggestions:
Buy a replacement? Good source?
Rebuild myself (if practical)? Does a rebuild require special tools?
Send out for rebuild? Recommend a good shop? How much might I expect to pay?
Thanks,
Mike
