    Orphans Forum

This Orphan Section exists solely as an attempt to re-connect original documentation and VIN-stamped drivetrain components with their original vehicles. This includes Corvette documentation such as window stickers, protect-o-plates, invoices, shipper’s docs, etc, and VIN-stamped engines and transmissions that have become separated from the original car. It is our desire that this section can help to reunite orphaned items with the car they belong to.

Please select a prefix from the drop down list of the item type, add the year and the partial VIN as part of the subject line, such as POP/year/Vin. This standardized format of the VIN is important to help people search the forum.

By entering the Orphan Forums you agree to the Orphan Posting Guidelines and the Technical Discussion Board Terms of Use that your use is at your own risk, and NCRS or any person assisting NCRS in creating, producing, or delivering this website, shall not be liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect, or punitive damages, or any other loss, cost, expenses of any kind, injury, claim, liability or damage of any kind resulting from your use of this Web Site."

Please do *NOT* posts requests for documentation or drivetrain for your car and do not advertise items for sale. This section will be monitored and any such post will be deleted.

Thank you and the Board for arranging this. It is going to be very helpful and will take the car history and originality aspect to another level. Not to get greedy but I was hoping that the Orphan Forum might also include Dealer specific items. As you know there has been a lot of interest in the selling dealer area since the NCRS began to offer the selling dealer service. I am referring to things like dealer give away items, licence plate frames and anything that has a dealer name on it. I think it would be a great way ti re-unite those items with cars from that specific dealer.
Thanks in advance for the consideration.

        Dave,

This does not fit in with the purpose of the Orphans forums. The posts in these forums are to be VIN driven. If we can get all members to use a standard format for posting their VIN numbers members will be able to do a quick search of hundreds or thousands of posts and find any post or thread that includes the VIN searched for. At this point we have determined that the format of two digit year, dash, four or five digit serial number should work best for all model years.

Hopefully there will be a for sale section in the not too distant future. I think that many would be surprised how many more hits the web site would have if there was one.

            John,
Thanks for the reply but I respectfully disagree and think the Orphan Forum can be used for things other than VIN only items. Just my opinion.

              Orpans Forum

I am here to encourage all to post orphan items you may possess. You can also post information about an item with a vin you don't possess but you have knowledge about such as a motor you saw for sale somewhere....but you must have the year/5 digit vin to post it. As enthusiasts, we know all leads are important to an owner.

You must read the orphan's sticky first before posting or searching as the rules changed effective yesterday due to searching issues. A standard format is required for the entry of a vin for posting or searching. This is necessary so someone searching will actually retrieve all posts made for a given year/vin even if posts are years apart. If you posted before today, your post has been edited and changed to the new format.
