I have a early 1967, serial #332, and would like to know if this car would have originally had "B" code wheels. Also the car has 66 chrome window handles. Could these be correct on a early car? I am the fouth owner so I m not sure if they have been changed over the years, Can anyone confirm? Thank you!

Re: 67 B code wheels
Gary,
I have BB VIN #13xx (September 21, 1966 Production) and it has five "B" code wheels. As I understand it they were up until approximately VIN #2000. There's a great article in one of the Restorer's Magazine about 67 rally wheels. I can't comment on the door handles. I do have other 66 carry-over parts.
- Center console with aft seat belt bracket tapped holes.
- Radiator without round holes (rectangular only)
- Clutch return spring hook rather than later bent bracket with hole
- My Trim tag was stamped with 66 instead of 67

Re: 67 B code wheels
Hi Gary,
My 67 convertible VIN# 100179(Sept 6, 1966 production date) has B wheels. Although mine did not have 66 chrome door handles it does have some other early production date anomalies. The door panels have all the 67 changes but the top edge, where the fuzzy wipe attaches, is slightly longer than the later production panels. The fuzzy wipe on the passenger door was attached with staples and on the drivers door with rivets. The spacer/tone controls for the radio were from a 66.The radio knobs were correct for 67. The car has another anomaly which I don't think has anything to do with production date, which is that the dash tabs that are riveted to the forward door posts are painted the same color as the dash(medium saddle) and not the color of the car which is Marlboro Maroon. Go figure.
I bought the car in 1969.

Re: 67 B code wheels
Gary - We have owned '67 #1476 since 1983 and it had B code wheels. The use of B code rallye wheels is now well documented on the early 1967 Corvettes although it took a bit. While the use of previous Production year items if applicable is not unusual and I cannot say that the 66 style interior window cranks could not have been used on early '67s and they will function fine, but this is the first case I have heard of. But stranger things have happened. Pete- Top
