I'm ready to place my 66 body back on the frame. When I was studying the assembly manual I noticed that the bent corners on the shims were placed pointed up, for body mount 1,2, and 3. Body mount 4 has the shim corners pointing down. Is this correct?

Re: 1966 body shim orientation question.
Mike,
Convertible at firewall shims sit on top of alumunum puck with points down.
Coupe at firewall shims sit on top of washer & cushion with points down.
Convertible under rocker sill shims sit on top of frame hat section with points down.
Convertible and Coupe in front of rear tire I can't remember....... I think points up, shim first with puck rubber on each side of birdcage.
Convertible and Coupe behind rear tire shims sit on top of washer & cushion with points down.
In all these cases a 1 1/2" wide tape holds the shims and cushions (aluminum puck) to the ears of the frame prior to body drop and remains in place.- Top
