Correct Delco Battery for '93 LT1

I am seeking information on the correct Delco battery to replace my 1993 LT1. The replacement Delco Cat 693 replacement model 75B72 is not functioning (I managed to get 11 years out of it). The dimensions of the new replacement Delco batteries (as given by my dealer) seem too long and tall for the car. If someone knows the correct part numbers that will fit, I will obtain one from my Chev. dealer. Thanks

This should not be a problem. Your car requires a Group 75 battery. Among other things, battery group numbers reflect battery dimensions for fitment purposes. Of course, not every Group 75 is going to have the same dimensions down to a "gnat's ass" but they should all be close enough to fit without problems. You should be able to use any Group 75 battery, Delco or otherwise.

Joe, I would try and locate someone that sells Delco batteries other than a dealer, you might be able to save a few bucks. And take your old battery with you just to measure up the new with old. You should be able to do a seach of your local area of those who carry Delco batteries.

As Joe L. says even know the name is the same they may vary slightly. and sometimes the housings are different with the length of the warrenty.

I like using the AC Delco Professional series, last one I bought has a 7 year warranty, forgot what the free replacement time is. Use my local AC Delco parts house and price is discounted some, keeps me coming back to them. Going tomorrow to get a new AC Delco neg battery cable.
