Hood Latch Paint Removal

I am removing years of black paint from my hood latchs and would like to sand blast. Is sand blasting OK or would it leave any kind of pitting that would affect the originality? Is there another process better suited for this type of paint removal?

Walter I would try paint remover first. and then access there condition after that. glass beading ( its almost like powder if you buy the pulverized stuff) is a little easier on the metal than sand blasting.

Walter, I would follow what Edward said. If you sand blast them you will need to replate them.

Try acetone, I just used it to take lots of over-spray off a 65 grill. Worked Great. Just try a test spot first that will not be visible.
