    67 Radio Card ID Help

After owning my 67 BB for nearly 28 years I decided to open the owner's manual. It's a 1st edition with insert that came with the bag when I bought the car. I always believed it to be original. When I opened it a radio card fell out. It was stuck between two pages. I didn't know it was there. Attached are pics of the card. It appears original based on discolorations and a crease. It has evidence of once being installed on the knob. Please help me confirm if this is correct for my car. The card is not the bright yellow I've seen at meets. The color is more Manilla or off-white.

    Dereck,
I have been researching these and other paper items for a while. My research indicates you have a 1966 to early 1967 radio tag. I cannot accurately define early. The mid/late 1967 thru 1969 radio tags are a pale yellow and have printing on only one side. There are a couple of frequent posters on this board that can add more if they notice the thread. In any event it looks to be a nice original tag and is very scarce.

      Dave,
Thanks for the feedback. I do have a very early mid-September of 1966 built car. The car has a significant number of carry-over 1966 parts including the radiator, clutch return spring hook, "B" coded rally wheels, and shifter center console with seat belt bracket mount holes. I'm sure there are others. This appears to be consistant with your feedback. Curious to get other folks thoughts.
      thanks
      Dereck

        Dereck,
At least that confirms what I felt was correct. Curious to see what others think as well.

I'm not an expert but common sense would say that the reference to extending the mast to 30 inches would not apply to 67 as the mast was a fixed length.

            Stephen,
That is likely one of the reasons the tag changed. These tags were also used on other Chevrolet passenger cars. I believe the 66 radio tags were used up early in the 1967 model year thus the one sided tag began to show up when the supply of 66 tags were depleted.

              Dereck,

Does you 67 have five B stamped wheels. My sept 23 built car has two DC's with a date of 66 inside but I can't find a month as the date stamp is along a edge.

                Tim,
I have five "B" coded wheels with 8 66 stamped on the inside of the rim. I replaced one of the "B" wheels a while back with another one I found due to a severe rim dent. I kept the wheel and believe it can now be straightened with modern equipment. I've never seen a month on the wheel any where. I am curious about some other dates you have on your car for the following:
Steering column - mine is undated; column is early version with lower snap ring. Must not have been recalled. I restored it last year.
Seat belts - My tags are C10 1967; the date stamps are faded away. I always thought this car should have 1966 dated seat belts (i.e. carry over 66 belts)

I also have the Gray triangular knob on my inside rear view mirror. I understand this is typical for early cars. The e-brake handle has the chrome tip. I'm confident this is the original one. Not sure when the black handle started. I don't think it was right away. Curious if your clutch return spring hook is the 66 style. Interestingly enough the RH headlight vertical brace has a slight bend. I thought it meant the front was hit at one point. However, while at Bloomington last year I looked at an unrestored car only 100 VIN's from mine and it had the same brace bend. There is not evidence of my front being repaired. It must need to be bent to get it to fit properly. That car was a BB also so it was likely the same guy who built both cars back in the day. Fun stuff.

                  Dereck,

I checked my steering column and can't find a date either but I will look again, it's also a original with the first design lower bearing set up. I will also check out the other items and get back to you this week as the car is garaged elsewhere.

Thanks for the info on the rally's I can't imagine someone put DC wheels on this car but the month stamp rounded a corner inside and it's not even stamped, all I see is 66. All my B wheels are stamped 8-66.
