1958-1962 Front & Rear Emblem Foam-Rubber Seal (Gasket)

Are the foam seals supposed to hang out around the chrome bezel? I can easily see mine once the emblem is installed.

Believe you will find seal goes under body not on top

Cliff is correct, the seal is between the body and the backing plate.

The 1962 AIM indicates .025 oz of 466943 cement around the 3 bezel studs. Don't know what "466943 cement" is. But I'd guess it was "dumdum." Mine leaks there without the dumdum.
