    Wiper Push Rod

My passenger side wiper push rod is missing the brass bushing. I do not see a replaceemnt bushing or wiper push rod listed at any of the parts suppliers. Where would I go to fix the problem.

I would suggest a local machine shop could make one .

It's been over 2 decades since I worked on the wiper system of my 1966 Corvette. GM 4911516 in Gr. 10.159 is the part # for the transmission asm. (wiper push rod, as you call it). The brass bushing is part of the transmission asm. and apparently was never serviced as I could not find it in my 1966, 1967, and 1968 Chev. parts catalogs.

I agree with Wayne. A machine shop could make a brass bushing and then somehow crimp it into the rod.

I wonder if a local hardware store would sell a grommet that could be used. Might be worth a try.

I found a grommet at hardware store. Haven't installed yet, and it probably will need a little bench grinder work to make it fit but it should do the job.

The brass tarp grommets look similar and might work but they seem to be too thin. The O.D. measures about 0.93", I.D. measures 0.50". I do not the dimensions of the original bushing.
The special installation tool comes with the kit.
