70 LS6 auto

Looking at a car in Dallas, anyone know what the
trany tag should look like on a 70? thanks RDR

Ron, on 1970 the tag is black and is mount on the pass side maybe hard to see if on the ground. it will have the yr of manuf. and Julian date stamped.

If you're talking about a Corvette, there were no 1970 LS-6's produced. For 1970 LS-6's (cast iron head version) were installed in Chevelles only. For 1971, the LS-6 (aluminum head version) was only installed in Corvettes.

Yes a corvette but 71 sorry for the confusion. I am familiar with the 69 M40 but not the 71

I think the 71 tags were black also, found one on a 71 Z28 Camero
