Re: 1963 roller gas lid (door)
Paul. I think they maybe a problem restoring the earlier gas doors on 63's, The problem is the tags that are bent over are aluminum and will break when trying to straighten to remove the emblem. the Emblem can be re-attached by JB weld but that may not look correct.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 1963 roller gas lid (door)
Paul,
I don't know how much it would cost to restore a roller lid but look at the repro's because they look pretty good in my eyes.
I put a new emblem in my roller lid and used J&B weld to fix the broken tabs. The lid looks good but the emblem has a silver background and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a white background, maybe someone can give some info on that change.- Top

Re: 1963 roller gas lid (door)
Jerry did the door on my car before I bought it, saw a guy looking at the door in Conn.. Asked if I could help him, he asked if I had bought the car from so & so ( which I had ). The lid had 2 tabs broken off, which I told him was like that - he gave me his card and asked me to mail the lid to him.
I mailed the lid and he repaired it at no charge ( said he always stood behind his work ). He does great work - the last time I ran into him he said he no longer did roller lids. Great guy, hope he can help you out. Good luck.- Top
