Rear Storage Compartment Rebuild (1968)
Does anyone out there rebuild the Rear Storage Compartment Assemblies? I have a 1968 with the springs so buying a 'Repo' assembly is not an option for originality. I have tried to install my hinges (with the springs) on a new frame but cannot get everything to fit properly. Thanks if you know of someone who can assist with a rebuild of my original. Maybe if you have had the same problem, you bought the 'Repro' and took the points deduction?

All the repro hinges I have seen are stainless steel. You would lose for that finish plus the lasck of springs. -

I have rebuilt my '69 (with springs) successfully. What doesn't sem to fit? Are you riveting the hinges onto the plastic? Tell us where the problem is and maybe I can help.
