1971 Accelerator Pedal Rod Finish

Can someone tell me what type of finish is on the accelerator rod that the pedal mounts to. I just finished soaking mine in evaporust and it looks like made it had a light grey phospahte finish. Could see little sparkles in the right lighting.

That's what mine looks like and I have no reason to believe it has been refinished. It looks like the same finish as is on original hood locks. I'm sure someone on this board will provide us with the proper name for that finish. Chip.

It is the gray phosphate finish.

I would call it dark gray phosphate gray would be to light in my eye.

It also looks to be black phosphate which is a light black or dark gray as Paul mentioned.
