Dave you are right, my mistake. Thanks for the correction. I never claim to have any mastery (as you put it), just trying to help.

Unfortunately, the GM part number is the same regardless of the manufacturer. Every 1984-96 Corvette (except export cars) used sealed beam GM #5972698. So, the part number cannot be used to identify a particular manufacturer. Depending upon when the particular sealed beam went into GMSPO inventory generally determines what the manufacturer will be.

By the way, my original owner 1992 LT1 was originally delivered with Guide brand sealed beams and I would not be surprised if 1989 did, too. I believe that Guide was either still a GM Division at that time or had been spun off but remained a major supplier to GM. Many high-volume lighting products were manufactured by Guide.

James, that's interesting. Are you the original owner?

No, not original owner, but it was a 12,000 mile car when I bought it. Also, check the JM and it also states they shold be plastic on a ZR-1 only

Does anyone have a build sheet for a ZR1 and L98 or LT1 for any given model year? I'd be curious if the broadcast code for the headlamp assemblies was different.
