    St Louis Body 2384

That is the body number on my trim tag. No S and no A. That makes sense to me since AO Smith was not being used in Nov 63. But it that correct...to have a Nov 63 trim tag with no S or A?

And what was the sequencing? My car is S/N 5788 so why/how could the body number be lower than the serial?

    Hi Larry,

Are you sure you have your numbers right?
I'm not saying that all cars fell directly into sequence in '63 but if this car did follow sequence, when comparing it to some others built near it serial #5788 would equal about Body #2705 for a Convertible and equal about Body #3095 for a Coupe.

      Larry -

The body number on the trim tag will always be lower than the VIN; There were two different "Body" number sequences - one for coupes, and one for convertibles, and the VIN number was a completely separate issue.

        Sorry Larry!
I jumped too quick and assumed you were talking about a '63 and not your Nov. built '64.
