I thought this would be an easy forum search and answer, but I drew a blank.
Vette Vues says the 6 hole hand hold was used till about 14000 in 64, but my car is 5788 and has a 4 hole. I know the dash pads have been out and recovered and maybe the wrong repro was put in. So I took it off and looked to see what I had to screw to. It looks like there is a flat U shaped area on both ends and a long flat area in the middle of each side where my 3rd and 4th screw go, but if I convert to a six hole it looks like I'd be going into a rough ares and not sure there is anything to screw to. Also, on the rear side I saw what looked like rivet clinches about half way between the end screws and middle screws. On the front I'm covered with vinyl and don't know whats there.
1. Did the original hand hold have a P/N embossed?
2. If I convert, is there anything there to screw to?
3. Any chance 4 hole is right, despite Vette Vues?
