Wiring strap behind hood support - C2 (64)

I've got the strap and I've got the hole, but I see it as very difficult to get this strap around both the overflow hose and the wiring harness....hence the question...does it go around both?

As I recall, the AIM calls this part out on the radiator page and I don't see it in the wiring section.

Maybe I shouldn't ask the simple questions but for some of you guys this is so easy to answer.

Larry, Do the straps have two holes? I think there were two different size strap designs (one hole and 2 hole) ? because the harness and the balance hose wrap together.

Hi Larry, my 64 Coupe only has the wires going through the retainer. Has two holes and can just fit around the wiring harness, hose just lays on top. No way both will fit in there. FWIW, the original plastic ties have a mold number in the part that protrudes through the hole in the strap, repros are smooth on the protrusion.

Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

Dan, mine are two hole repros and have a 3 on the strap which could be a cavity number but, if so, thay all came from cavity 3. But I'm interested, would the mold number you discuss be on the tip?? or where is it? And my AIM is down in the shop but I'm pretty sure this part shows up on the radiator page, but that doesn't mean it was any easier for the factory than it is for me. So you are saying you think yours is as built and has never been removed...right?

PS: mine is a red fuelie coupe also - 38000 miles - never been judged - but I think it has had too much done to it get bowtie or anything else like that.

Larry, checked my AIM and it shows the overflow hose going through all three straps. Hard to tell on the electrical sheet if the wires also go through all three. Can't say what mine was when new, but it won't fit so I played UAW worker and did what worked! My old straps have a '3' on the flat end of the protrusion going through the strap. All my old ones were like that, vendors may have had a good supply of GM straps for quite a while. What's the Vin on your 64? STD interior? Sound like classmates!!

Dan - 105788 built 11/26/63, FI, M20, Posi 3:70, J56(includes J50), red/red, back up lights, P92 and no radio. have the window sticker. Original owner never saw the wheels and tires. Had VV Cooke in Louisville, Ky installed 5 KOs with 6:70X15 Michelin X radial blackwals. Have the wheels and original tires in great shape. Still running original metallic brake shoes and drums. I bought it on the original title but there were as many as 3 other owners who never titled it. Unfortunately the original owner had a radio installed, 3rd tail light and sidepipes, all which got removed by the last owner/trader restoring it to original with holes patched and a paint job and the dash had to be recovered due to patching radio hole. And he put a lot of repro or hardware store stuff on it. Made it look good but now I'm trying to figure all that out.
