69 over ride assembly installation

Hello Friends, does the over ride bracket mount under the plastic steering column cover ( which tucks under the cover and looks much more neat ) or over the top of the cover ( which makes it protrude down more toward the floorboard exposing controls). I've seen it both ways in books that I have. Thanks, Danny Watkins

It mounts under the cover. I just installed that part with the switches the other day.
