My TS switch upper plate broke and I replaced the upper plastic plate on my 65 standard srteering column with a replacement plastic OEM plate and before I screwed the replacement upper plastic cam to the lower plastic piece, I noticed that one brass contact strip was distorted. I straightened it a little and put together. Getting the sheet metal Phillips head screw into the new plastic to fasten the upper and lower plates together, with the switch still in the column, was a bear. Assembled the switch but signals still not working right. Does anyone sell the replacement brass contact strips or must I search for an old used switch? I know that guys have straightened these but they are quite delicate. I've heard so many horror stories about the repro switches that I hesitate buying a replacement.
The steering shaft index mark was not lined up with the wheel hub index mark which may have caused misalignment of the the plastic cancelling cam with the upper switch plate which may have caused my problem to begin with.
