C1 correct chrome parts, do repro's pass judging?

I'm aware that there are stamped chrome parts and unstamped ones on C1's. First question is do the unstamped repro parts pass judging? This would include parts like crescent bumpers, parking lense bezel, front bumperette, emblem bezel, side moulding, etc. If they do not, how can you tell the difference between originals? I bought the judging guide but was really disappointed that it was not as comprehensive as I thought it would be. For the stamped parts (tail light housing, grill teeth, etc.), are there repro's with the correct stamp that pass judging or do all parts have to be original?

Maybe someone with a 56-57 might have the answer I'm looking for?

    Thanks

andy: i believe you have the definition of stamped and unstamped backwards. unstamped, or rather cast parts would include grill teeth and taillights. stamped parts would include the parking lite bezels, crescent bumpers and front bumperettes. front and rear emblem bezels would be cast. i've used the stamped steel chrome plated parts on our 57's, 54 and 56 with little or no deductions. most of the cast parts i've used in restoring these old vets were replated originals. mike

I posted pretty late last night. When I said stamped I meant pieces that have the part number stamped in the metal somewhere. I have the original crescent bumpers and one is dented pretty good. I've looked it over and there's no part number stamped anywhere so I'm guessing that I can just buy an accurate repro as long as it's an exact copy.

In most cases, the judges can't see the cast part numbers when installed and they are not looking for the part numbers. There are almost no exact copies of any of the C1 parts being reproduced. Some are good enough that they will receive no deduct; some will receive small deduct. The repro teeth are very close, but not exact and a judge can spot the difference. Whether they deduct a point or two is up to them. Sometimes the chromed parts are triple chromed and the originals were not triple chromed; a judge can spot the difference and deduct.
