A long time ago, I purchased a pair of NOS BB aluminum heads #14011077. They were bare with guides. I had them assembled and I in stalled them on a hi-perf 454 making myself an LS-6. The entire assembly is still on the engine stand ,a long time later. I really do not know what or if a restoration value exists for these or should I just use and enjoy them. They have the Winters logo on the outside and look ,in my opinion , like the older versions. The part # is under the valve cover, but no casting dates. To the track or to the for sale rack? Thanks in advance Curt

The GM part #14011076 (casting 14011077) was a SERVICE-only cylinder head. It was never used in any PRODUCTION application, at all. I do not think it was ever used for a SERVICE engine assembly but it's possible it was used for a few. So, strictly speaking, the 14011076 is not correct for any original application. However, it's external configuration is very close to earlier big block aluminum heads, most notably the GM #3946072 (casting 3946074) which it replaced. It's not going to fool any judges, though, with the valve covers on or off.
From a performance perspective, the GM #14011076 is a very good cylinder head. It's not as good as later GM big block aluminum cylinder heads, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
