For those of us driving our Corvettes that will be judged, the host hotel doesn't work (we'll have no transportation), so we're staying at the Country Hearth Inn. I know it isn't the nicest place in town, but it is VERY convenient.

Jim, are you doing PV or Flight?

In that case at most meets you can move your car whenever you want if you are using the car for your only transportation. Please verify with the Meet Judging Chairman to be sure, as s/he has the final say on such matters. Please note I said the Meet Judging Chairman, and not the National Judging Chairman. Contact information for the Meet Judging Chairman is on the meet registration forms.

I believe that the Judging Reference Manual states that all judged cars (that includes PV cars) must remain on the judging field until the conclusion of the judging portion of the event. Sportsman and Founders can come and go as I understand it.

I have been to events, both National and Regional, where some PV cars were not parked with the judged cars and they were able to come and go. In fairness the events that come to mind did not have room on the "judging field" for all the cars and I suspect the organizers drew a "line in the sand" where it was convenient for both them and the owners. I only found out about it because I wanted to use one of those PV cars for my Advanced Judging Seminar, and it wasn't available. If you want me to name the meets I will, but my point is that sometimes the letter of the law is not followed. Mike S could do the same if he was less public about it than y'all have made this. Now the toothpaste is out of the tube, so Slim and None are in control and Slim just left town.

I had one specific National Convention in mind when I posted the above post last night. In hindsight, I should have said all this off the board and Jim might have had a chance at better quality rooms and a happier experience.

Terry, as you state in your prior posting, Jim needs to check with the Judging Chairman and find out what the requirement is/will be. Like you mention, I too have seen the "ALL judged cars" must not leave the judging field "relaxed" on a case-by-case basis. Once again, common sense should be followed not an absolute, which we all tend to put blinders on.

Thanks for the thoughts folks, but now that this is all in the open, we'll stay at the Country Hearth and bum a ride to dinner on Friday with one of you who has a tow vehicle.

Just so there is no misunderstanding the only cars leaving a regional or national judging field without the chance of suffering a suspension from the organization will be founders and sportsman. Per the judging reference manual, End of discussion.
