    Early HD Brake Drum markings

    After only 18 years, today I noticed a stamping on my rear HD Brake Drums. The stamping is between the fins - one is "HF" and the other is "HB". An inspection mark? Or? I'll check the fronts tomorrow.

      It appears that the same # of people responded to this query as responded to my 15 years of input to the 1963-64 Judging Manual - at least there I had specific addresses for those that were ignoring the input. Thanks.

          Loren, I wish I had a HD Brake car. I am interesred in knowing the meaning of the markings, also. None of the '57 or '58 drums I have seen had markings, Just surface rust. Steve
