Has anyone had success with any of the Vehicle Title History companies for owner histories back in the 60's and 70's. I'm particularly looking for information in Illonois and Washington State.

Bill, If you are talking about private companies that tell you they can get vehicle histories for you, I would say do not waste your money. Federal and state privacy laws prohibit the states,in their infinite wisdom,from giving us information from the distant past. Most DMV's will tell you that they do not have any records going back past 10 years,although I do not necessarily believe them. I suggest you call the title departments in both of the states you mentioned and ask them. Some sanitized/redacted info can occasionally be obtained.Comment
