Yes, I understand that. I've attended a few Nationals where I received more than one point for a Judging Seminar. I think there is some confusion regarding the terms, though, even at the national level. If you look at page 123 of the latest Driveline, they list, under the Technical Sessions section "Paint: the new Frontier" as receiving 3 Judging Points. I have taken that session myself at the Novi National. I understand it may be a Judging Session, but it is listed under the Tech Sessions. I think that is why I was confused.
I understand, now, so will stop beating a dead horse.

      Roy,
to that end, maybe the Board should revise the language and allow Tech Sessions to be awarded points, based upon their contribution to making better Judges, or helping people restore their cars more correctly. Then again, there may be a million reasons why the language should not be revised. I have learned so much from these sessions, whatever they be called. I would venture to say, as much as actualy judging.

Maybe we need to introduce the concept of restoration points to earn by attending, or teach at tech sessions (besides getting a higher score once you get your car restored). It might motivate people who achieved their 400 judging points to achieve some new awards...

Roy, I remember something you told me several years ago when I was having trouble getting a chapter officer to understand the difference in a judging school and a tech session. You said a judging school must offer something that one can use on the judging field; rebuilding a carburetor is not done on the judging field.

Rob - I can see it now a Master Restorer that has never turned a wrench having only participated for several years in our restoration point collection classes in the 15 different types of events where he can earn restoration points. Fortunately the orchestration of that plan would fall under the IT group since you thought of it not the judging office
