    67 3x2 Tri-Power Fuel Line Leaks

I cant seem to get the middle carb fuel line at the bowl to seal correctly - its wet when running. Also the same issue at the 2nd fuel block that feeds the middle and rear carbs.

Do these fittings wear out with age?

Any tricks or suggestions? Going nutz!

PS - are there any alternate fuel line arrangements available for our 3x 2bbl setups that don't leak?

Al, I have the same problem. Watching intently to see if anyone has a solution...Do you have a strong gasoline smell in the garage after driving?

It is usually the threads in the carb. bowl NOT the lines. The pot metal threads are easy to strip out/cross thread or wear to the point of leaking. Sometimes a sealent will work for a while but the real fix is new bowls.

This is an excellent thread about this common problem. Post #7 has a good procedure to try, good luck!

          Al:

I struggled with the same problem until putting a little grease on the fitting before cranking down on them hard. It eliminates them binding up when tightening them. Had no problems for over a year now.

Thanks All - I have also been reading about using Loctite 545 on the fitting threads and flare end, anyone use this stuff?

I think the conical seal will be the best solution.

I had similar problems with the lines leaking. It turned out that I really had to tighten them down more than I thought. I wasn't cranking them down enough even though I thought I was until a buddy came over with no fear of breaking anything and it worked. I did not use any sealant.
