My '63 shop manual does not provide a torque spec. for the tie rod clamp bolt. My '68 and '74 manuals specify 132 lb.-in.. Can someone provide a conversion factor to go from lb.-in. to lb.-ft. or provide the lb.-ft. number? Also, maybe its not critical for '63 so I just tighten until it feels right? Thanks.

Thanks Terry, the conversion was so simple and straightforward that I didn't believe it could be correct until you provided the info.- Top

No John, I don't have that particular reference. If you are suggesting I get one what are my options?- Top

Re: 1963 Tie Rod Clamp Bolt Torque
The Assembly Manual is absolutely a "must-have", even for simple maintenance, much less for a restoration; the NCRS on-line store ("NCRS Shop" icon at the top of the page) has them. Can't imagine working on a 50-year-old car without one.- Top

Thanks John, I'll check it out. Yes, working on a '63 is a challenge, especially with so many one year only parts on these cars.- Top
