R the brackets to reinforce the rear valance on a 70 finished in semi-gloss black or zinc phosphate?

    Thanks,

    Bill,

Could you be a little more specific or even provide a photo of the bracket in question. Thanks.

      Hi Ron,

Note that the bracket has been dipped to remove dirt and rust so it is pictured as bare steel.

        Bill,

That particular bracket and most of the ones similar to it in configuration were dipped painted in GM # 1050104. Pretty much the same paint that was used to black out the wheek wells ansd the engine compartment unless it was a car being painted black at the factory as then they would blacked out the engine compartment with the lacquer paint used to paint the exterior. What this did was eliminate setting up the other bkack paint. This pretty much holds true for most factory black painted vehicles.

          Thanks Ron,

The reason I thought maybe this bracket was different is because of the captured nut.

            Bill,

Just an FYI - If you are dipping parts or spraying them with the # 104 paint, it is not necessary to incorporate thinner as it is made to spray right out of the can after a good stirring.
