Sounds great Jim. i'll have to get my top flight 65 FI car off the storage rack and fire it up. i'm in Boulder Colorado 30 miles from Denver. I wonder if they'd also like to see a Fuelie Road Racer. Jerryt

LET'S GET THEM ALL OUT. I showed my 64 Silver Red FI Racer at NCRS 1991 CONVENTION when the feature was race cars.

I can't shift any more Jerry, so maybe I now need to find a POWERGLIDE 57 FUELIE and join you guys in the ROAD TOUR. Maybe we need 57-65 FUEL INJECTION ROAD TOUR cars. That would be fun.

"OK guys, 2015 will be 50 years of 1965 FUEL INJECTION CARS. I saw VINNIE PETERS at LAKE TAHOE REGIONAL last weekend and we want to start a campaign to get as many 1965 FUEL CARS as possible to the 2015 DENVER NATIONAL CONVENTION. What do you guys think. Get these cars out and dust them off....finish the restorations and lets have a ''driving road tour'' of 1965 fuel cars to convention" Not to hijack this thread - but are other '65's welcome at Denver in 2015 or just L84's ?

Agree. The L76 (327/365) gets forgotten as also being the last year available.

LAPS at INDY in late June may be possible from what I am hearing. And with gas prices down, maybe 108 leaded racing fuel might be available again.

Yep, Solid lifter small block Corvette would not be back for 5 years in a 1970 LT1. Not as sophisticated as an L84 and not as rare. Probably just about as quick if setup correctly. Of course I'm biased.

I too am trying to get my car taken care of to PV in Tucson and then Duntov in Denver. Hope to see Steve there also with the convertible.

                            James,

I am making progress. The body was put on the rotisserie last week. Here are some pictures. Unfortunately, I do not believe that I will have the car finished in time for the National this year.

I am biased too as an L76 owner. I have been told by many folks from that era, and in particular a speed shop owner and tuner, that the L76 was the performer. They all commented that back then everyone knew how to tune a carb but a fulie tuner / technician was rare. In fact, the speed shop owner said he could not count the number of fulie conversions he did to Edelbrock intake/Holley double pumps, AND threw the fuelie units in the trash as the owners and he did not want them. Of course he now wishes he had kept them and this just makes the L84 even more rare.

Have you checked the two letter code decal on the back side of the speedo or tach for the FI code.
