    1963-1966 C2 Flexible Coupling Assembly

I recently responded to an eMail from Tim concerning a 1963 flexible coupling assembly that he purchased. I am sure that it is a Saginaw manufactured service part from the 1970s. Here was my response to him.
I think that $80 is about the right price for an OEM flexible coupling assembly for your 1963. When your 5691327 is bolted to your steering column flange, the flex coupling asm should look like this picture.

The 7 ply disc should have splashes of orange paint on the face with the screen. You should be able to count the number of laminations and come up with 7. You should also be able to carefully rub your finger along the edge of the disc where the screen is molded into the face and feel the sharp screen wires on that edge.

Saginaw was pretty good at updating their old service parts to use the latest components. So it is very possible that you have a correct flex cplg asm that was manufactured at Saginaw sometime in the 1970s. They would have used the 7 ply coupling disc with the screen (orange paint) in place of the original disc and ground wire/strap.

I think that your are ready to go with the flex cplg asm that you purchased.
