Who remembers those? They were like a precursor to VHS. Color tapes with sound. Anyone still have a working one? How about the tapes? Each dealership had one, I believe. All GM lines? I've seen Chevrolet tapes and Buick ones.

You mean the Jam Handy ones with the record/or slides that played on the DuKane projector? I could tell you a bunch of stories about those, but not here in "public," Mike. I will save them for when I come to see your latest 1970. There were a series of those. I think they started with the slides and record, and then as technology moved on they became slides with something like an 8-track (the slides advanced with a tone from the audio), and lastly went to a "cassette" audio and video combined.Terry- Top

GM also had Laser Disk player in most, if not all dealers during the 1980's. I remember seeing this promo for the '84 Corvette on one, there are a lot of shots with the never released to the public 15" wheels. It also shows a few shots from and NCRS meet.

I remember them from the 70's and previous to that from the '50's & '60's. In 1981 the Chevy dealer in Brush, CO. offered me his projector, record player, records, and films (8 or 16 mm?) for $150.00. I took them for a day or two to view, especially the '57 Corvette. Unfortunately I did not buy them. Hind sight---- Top

I remember seeing that '84 Corvette video in the dealership at the time, too. (Yes, with the base wheels you described) And later I came across one of those laserdiscs at a swapmeet and bought it. The laser disc is playable on a regular Laserdisc player, which I have, though some of the functionality is apparently missing, the videos are viewable. GM also had service training laser discs that were played on the same machine. I had a couple of those also, but donated them to a local highschool auto shop.- Top

Russ Uzes has a web site with most of them on there. I sent him my 1970 Corvette/Camero one & he copied it. They came in a box with short film strips & records. They played on a projector/record player. I still have mine in the origional box but sold the projector. This one is for training salesmen.65 350 TI CONV 67 J56 435 CONV,67,390/AIR CONV,70 454/air CONV,
