Hello All; I recently bought my 65', and wish to repair/replace my glove box door which is slightly dented and scratched. Should I send this original unit for repair, or simply change it ? I'm concerned that the replacement unit will not be of same quality and finish as OEM. Thank you; David Kalaydjian

I believe that the entire procedure was in an article by Jerry Fuccillo in a 2007 issue of the Restorer, which is available at the NCRS store. I also recall that parts of this article are in the archives somewhere.

Just did my '64. You can buy the brushed insert, cut the old one out leaving ~ 1" all the way around, paint the surround then slide the new insert between the old insert and the back side of the surround. If you drill the rivets out of the back side you ruin the originality. Sliding the new insert in preserves the door as original.- Top
