Are the componets for a 61-62 the same for a 57

can't coment on 57 vs 61-2 but can on the 56 vs 57. harnesses differ as do conv top lid saftey switches and the location of the other switches. i'm currently doing a early 56 which has been a headache. i've got 57 parts if ya need any.mike

Thanks,I found a guy who had a complete set up but he told me its from a 61-or 62.I cant remember whitch one but I said that I would try and find out if either year would work for me. Im going to try and find the complete set up if I can,the only thing I have is the switch and the relay that sits under the hood.

Tony, the main difference between 57 and 58-62 is the push/pull switch under the dash for the 57. In 1958, they changed over to a toggle switch under the dash. The microswitches, relay, safety switches, solenoids, pump/motor, wiring harness is the same for 57-62. You can expect to spend around $1,700 to get a complete set up working; unless you are purchasing the complete set up from one of the 2 men that refurbish them and they are ready to plug and play when you take them out of the box (plus tweaking of the micro switches).

Yes his set has a togle switch.Can you give me the info on where I can get one ready to go?

Contact John Shell, 260-749-8201. He will sell you a complete set up if he has one for sale or he can take a non-functioning set up that you provide and make it ready to install. The push-pull underdash switches for pre-1958 power tops are available on ebay or Doc Rebuild. You can sell the toggle switch for around $100 on ebay.
