67' 427 Fan Shroud

I ordered a replacement shroud from C. Central that is a replacement, so it's hand laid and has the rivets. I noticed it does not have the cut out window of the left side of the shroud. What is the window for and will I have problems in terms of fit since it is not the correct fiberglass scroud?

Dave -

I believe the "window" was there as a path for air to cool the alternator (it was in the same location for both 327 and 427, which had driver's side alternators). I don't think you'll have a fit problem, but it'll get a "configuration" deduction without the window.
