Thanks for sharing the photos of the May 63 Trim Tags.

I'm looking at a 4th week of May 1963 build date shown on a trim tag as 14 instead of I4. Has anyone else seen a 1 substituted for a I on a May 1963 trim tag ?

I am not an expert but the alignment of the top two lines does not look correct to me.
Hopefully someone else will chime in.

The center vertical line is different between tags.
It lines up with the " M " in MICHIGAN on Mark's tag but not on William's or Rob's tag.

The dot after DIV. should fall directly over the T in Detroit. The H in Michigan should fall directly under the M in Motors on the first line. Style, Trim, Body & Paint should be on the same line with the corresponding numbers, not higher as shown on tag. The verticle line should fall directly BETWEEN Detroit & Michigan. Rivits are BOGUS, along with the tag. Hope this helps.

Thanks to all who have responded to this thread. The issue of the line alignment, in the top two lines of the tag, brought up by Richard is eye opening to say the least. I have found the placement of the Build Date and alignment of Style, Trim, Body, Paint and the corresponding codes to vary among original 1963 Trim Tags; however, the top two lines are consistent on original tags.

What also stands out to me is the 7734 Body number.
If this was indeed the right trim tag for this '63 and was in proper sequence with other cars built near it, it would have a Vin of around 14,625 or so, which would put it in the 1st week of May.

FWIW here are the three trim tags together - easier to see the differences. Photoshop elimination of color, adjustment to common size, and lightening one of the tags for easier comparison. The tag in question is the one on top.
