58 to 60 tail light rechrome assembly

Had my 58 tail lights rechromed and the plater removed the lens mounting brackets (riveted) from the main housing for plating. Read previous threads and members indicate that they simply re riveted the brackets back to the main housing. Does anyone know where I can purchase these rivets and rivet setting tool for propoer installation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bought small rivets and hand set tools from Hanson Rivet and Supply. They are the only place I found that had a hugh variety of rivets and tools with a small minimum order value. I think their minimum order was $15. I bought a couple of the hand clinch tools (similar to picture below) and a variety of sizes of tubular rivets, both diameter and length. Corvette Central also sells the tool. Do a search on rivet set tool.

I have used them on a number of repairs/restoration. I rebuild my door/window regulators and used them for that as well as reinstalling the rivets you referred to. The tubular rivets are what you need. Do a google search for tubular rivets and you may find other sources that sell smaller quantities.

I would be happy to loan you the setting tool. I think I have two or three different sizes now.

Don, thanks so much for the infromation as this company came up when I googled rivets but I was hoping to find someone that had ordered from them. I'll definitely contact Hanson and order accordingly as you just can't find these from C Central, Paragon or the local hardware store anymore. I assumed that I wasn't the first person running into this but wasn't sure where to go. I also had the same issue as you mentioned earlier with my 67 window track rollers. Thanks for your offer to loan these but you've already been a great help and I am a bit of a tool nut so I'll contact Hanson tomorrow. I assume the rivets I need are 1/8" or 9/64" but I'll order a cross section of rivets accordingly. Thanks so much for responding as I really appreciate your help. Sincerly, John Cianciolo
