need picture of 1968 427/390 vacuum advance line

Anyone have a picture of the correct vacuum advance line setup for the 427/390? My steel tube was replaced a long time ago with a single tube and I want to confirm the proper configuration for stock. A picture of the engine without the air cleaner would be great, then I can confirm the routing and clips.

    thanks,

    Russ

The tube is the same as for 300 HP and L-46. Dr. Rebuild has these tubes at a very reasonable cost.

There is quite a bit of difference if you have C60 on the car. There is a service (Feb 68) news letter and the AIM C60, C8 that details the difference.
        Should look something like this.

Dale, I do have AC on mine. I cannot tell from your photo what happens to the vacuum tube at the front of the carb. also, what does the distributor connect to of there is no steel advance tube. I will look at the new NCRS guide for the service news letter.

Here are three pages you need to see. Hope they turn out. The front vacuum pickup off the front of the carb is not used and it is plugged. There is a "y" pick up off the intake manifold, see the news letter for where the hoses attach. The other picture is of the carb solenoid hook up.

Maybe you can see this better. You can see in the AIM C60,C8 the front hose goes to the spark. and the rear to vacuum. Not like the non A/C cars with the pipe.

That extra blue throttle return spring is for, I think, about 71 cars and up. I just like the backup feeling it gives you should one break. I guess one would have to remove it to be correct.

Thanks for the information. I can connect the distributor to the Y pick up, but the Y pickup off the manifold currently has the main vacuum for the canister (drivers side) and a vacuum line going into the wiper area. I guess I need to pull a full vacuum diagram to figure out the proper routing.

                    Russ,
Let me know what you find as I not 100% sure I've got it right on, and there is not much on this subject. Do you have the solenoid? What is the number on it?

Yes I have the solenoid. I have to check the number. I know it matches the Judging guide's number but I don't know it without looking at it.

I have the service 4421 and have been looking for years for that 4418. It's a buggr to find.

Dale, I will send you a picture of my solenoid tonight. Is your car 68? If so, what blower cut-out relay do you have on the car? The judging book says 881 but that part does not fit on mine. I heard the 992 but cannot seem to get a confirmed answer.

WOW, just to see one is cool. I'll go check on the relay. What is really kind of important is the correct emission sticker #3940925 for 68 BB's with A/C. Haven't seen one of those and they are not reproduced. I have a ??? post in the NCRS and also the Corvette forum. Maybe something will turn up. It's 992. See you got one, good.
