Unfortunately I took these pictures after I was done but I used three long threaded shafts with nuts welded to them to align the A-arm with the frame and then a larger bolt through the center of the coil. I sequentially tightened the spring down until I could get the A-arm bolts in and the ball joint nut on. It worked very well but I like Patrick's use of a hardened rod...the amount of energy that is imparted on this spring when it's maximally compressed is incredible. It has to be treated like a live bomb and handled as carefully. Never put your body over the arm until it is secured. If your bolts let go it will explode. My rods were not hardened and I was VERY anxious during this whole process.
