George: Was there a smaller "AG" also?

One of my friends who once worked at K-H has "no idea" about the stacking.

Perhaps that new stamping format changed early to mid calendar year 1968. Was that second wheel stored in the Gulf of Mexico:-)

I just think it shows that KH was very inconsistent with the stamping format of the info on the wheels. Look at the 68 wheels for sale on EBAY right now and you'll see several variations of the stampings with no apparent pattern.

On my 68 I have 5 wheels produced on Jan 31 that only have the date info stamped by the rim hole. The K1 is stamped on the center section only and the 8 for the year is missing completely. I have seen wheels produced the next day on Feb. 1 that had the full info stamped as usual around the rim hole.

Date stamping of the AG rims started about mid November '67. (For some reason that has not been explained why that date) I have 4 rims with just AG from my mid December '67 built car. It did not have a spare by the time I rescued it. I have a number of dated AG rims too. None that were stored in the gulf of Mexico though. One that Bubba had a few problems with getting a tire off.
