It's amazing how all these "little things" can be so much of a PITA.

I see on the Sylvania website it calls out the #90 for the Brake Warning lamp in error. S/B #53.

Here is the spec for the #53 bulb.....

And the #57 spec here....(for other dash bulbs)

Joe, Try the #53 that may be in the HB indicator socket in your EB flasher to see if it works better.

The catch comes from starting to work in a parts room in 1956, plus fleet, and then the Corvette parts business. Just arbitrarily look things up without thinking. 57 years of looking at books is a hard habit to break.

Lectric Limited lists the #53 bulb in their kit as being for the Emergency Brake Light. The ST-12 is really messed up. Spec page 14-18 shows 1959-58 Park Brake Alarm bulb as #90, but then listes 1962-60 as being #257 which I think is the flashing bulb.

OK, I am finally over the #90 bulb. I noticed that it was a double contact 15 millimeter wide bulb and the dash bulbs are single contact
9 mm wide bulb. I kept thinking that I would find a single contact 9 mm #90. The #53 bulb makes sense since it is the size of the dash light bulbs. All of the parts stores carry the #53. Thanks to all for getting me to the truth finally.

I just checked Corvette Central and did a search for "brake warning flasher bulb" and got 3 different bulbs for use in the brake flasher.

The #53 I installed yesterday is working perfectly today.
