    c-2 coupe headliner failure

today, i installed the 4th headliner in our 66 425 coupe which we've had since early 70's. certainly the reproduction community can come up with a better adhesive to secure the vinyl to the foam cushion. anybody know of such an adhesive or somebody that can supply a headliner with a longer lifespan? thanks, mike

It is not the adhesive Doc, it is the foam. After a period of time the foam literally turns to dust. That has been a problem since the introduction of foam backed vinyl. Two years ago I had to replace the headliner of my driver Buick for the same reason. Does the adhesive start the deterioration? That is a 64 dollar question.
