Thoughts on this trim tag and stamp pad please

I would like to get some opinions as to the originality of this stamp pad and trim tag. They are from a car I'm considering to buy but there is no paperwork at all with it so this is all I have to go on. To me it looks like someone was going to drill off the trim tag at one point but then stopped so I suppose it's original.

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks

I see that now that the pics are posted that they lost alot of the resolution. If anyone would like a better quality pic to help me out I can just e-mail them to you. Thanks again.

    If it's a 69, engine T1204 (Dec 4, 1968), Trim tag F02 (Jan 2, 1969) look good, but isn't Paint Code 900 Tuxedo Black?

I'm trying to get better pics posted but in the mean time what do you guys think of the vin derivative? Are they all too wide as compared to their height or is it just me? I compared them to some original pics I have both before and after this pad and they all look taller in my opinion....

The VIN characters do look too wide in your photo. A clearer photo would enable a more definative conclusion.

Anyone who thought they were going to be able to get one of these plugs out is someone that had not tried it previously.

As far as the trim tag goes, it appears original and, certainly, it's not a case of someone changing a trim tag to match the color of a re-painted car (the usual reason fro changed trim tags). However, the rivets do not look like they were "factory installed". So, I expect the tag was taken off when the car received its most recent re-paint and was re-installed by someone inexpert in the use of a pop rivet tool.

I'm not an expert when it comes t oengine pads, but I do like the broach marks of what I can see in the photo. Excluding the stamp itself as I cannot see it cleary.

Was the head plug removed to clear way so as to have the correct angle on a stamp?

I don't think that anybody actually got the plug out. I think they just TRIED to get it out and I doubt that they were successful. Why? Who knows?
