Hood alignment on a 67 roadster

I'm in the process (with a friend) of sanding the car and refitting the hood. It was off the car for about a year with it standing on its edge. We installed the hood and everything lines up except the center of the hood where it aligns with the cowl just below the windshield center. The hood is about 1/4" to 3/8' of an inch higher than the cowl and this is before any weatherstripping is in place.

Any thoughts on how to address this issue? The sides of the hood where they meet the fenders are very flush.

    Thanks,

    Jerry

Don't feel standing the hood on it's side had any effect on the hood and it's fitment to the surround. Others have speculated of this being an issue but my experiences would differ. Do you have pics of hood fitment before resto started to gauge any change? After all it's been a year, possibly it didn't fit well in that area to begin with. We sometimes remember events as we wish they had been . ....lol.

Images of the issue would help us offer an opinion.

Jerry, Try taking the hood pins off the hood, and closing the hood and see how it sits, using the stops on latchs. adjust up and down for fitment.a note when the pins are off it will be a liitle bit of a pill to re-open hood,Take a piece of duct tape and tape it to the underside of hood and use to assit on opening.

        Ed,

The hood pins are not on the hood. I will put them on so that they can pull a little and we'll see what happens

        Thanks

        Jerry
