Is the radiator cap for MY 89 a AC RC-44 a 17LB cap?

The part numbers listed in GM parts catalogs may or may not be the same as what was installed on the assembly line. My 1992 Corvette Parts Catalog (Oct. 1991) lists GM # 6410962 as the part number of the radiator cap in Gr. 1.203 for 85-90 Corvettes and is described as "CAP, RAD FILL (RC44)". GM # 6410962 is listed in my 1985 Chev. Price Schedule (Aug. 1985) for $6.85 (list price) and was also used on Buick, Oldsmobile, and Cadillac models. GM # 6410962 does not appear in my 1982 Price Schedule.

        Peter----

I believe the currently available RC44 is still configured pretty much the same, if not identical, to the originals.

There's always the possibility that they've changed VERY recently but I doubt it. Of course, there may be some "nuance" difference.
