    Wonderbar Radio Repair

Hi I am looking for a recommendation to get my Wonderbar radio repaired out of my 62. I am returning to NCRS after several years and do not have any magazines to reference.
I did find one guy that repairs radios when doing a Google search, has anyone heard of or used this person?
    Crockett Sound Laboratory
    Tony Mac Crutchfield

    Any assistance would be appreciated

    David,

Charles Siegfried in California will rebuild your radio - not just repair it. After 50 years they need a complete rebuild. Charles has done several for me and is an excellent vendor to deal wth. His contact info is in the Driveline.

This is NOT a cheap service, but it's INTENSIVE. Siegfried will replace ALL of the discrete components known to age/drift (e.g. old capacitors) and apply ALL of the circuit mods/updates that Delco ever published for your radio. What you won't get is 'cosmetic' restoration (re-chrome of the face plate, push buttons, Etc.). But, if you ask, Charles will pull these items and let you have them rechromed while he's doing the rest of work...

Jerry restored both my Wonderbar (it had been restored twice by another member with poor results) and the radio in my 65. Both radios work flawlessly. He's the only one I will let work on my stuff now.

Jerry just finished mine a few weeks ago. It now looks like new- and his updates while working working on it are great - he is on top of it

Had my 1960 Wonderbar radio done by Turnswitch. Very quick turn around, internationally shipped and radio works + looks like new.

I have a issue with my wonderbar radio, It works with the manuel tuning but maybe not a lot of stations. and when I push the wonder bar it just cycles without catching a station. is this a problem with the radio signal or a issue with the radio head,It does have a new nos antenna mast assy. and a L.I. Island antenna lead. David hope you don't mind me stepping into your post. Ed

                      Re: Wonderbar Radio Repair

On a 63 wonderbar radio there is a sensitivity switch (usually red) under the wonderbar. Push up and it's more sensitive selecting more weak stations and push it down and it bypasses the weak stations.
Try the sensitivity setting before removing it for repair.

                            Hi Guys,
Thank you, this is exactly the input I am looking for. I am glad to be back to NCRS, it takes a village to restore a Corvette.
