F41 Shock Mounts

Does anyone know or understand the numbering of the F41 shock strut, ie. when the change or why? The GM numbers were 3829265 and 3829262 and these numbers cound be found on the strut singularly or on some struts with both numbers 3829265/66 on one, as if innerchangable and then some with no numbers at all. I think these uncast may be after market.
