    C1 Front End Alignment

I recently rebuilt the front suspension of my 1962. All went well until I went to the alignment shop. There was no way to get the camber ito spec. A secont set of eddentrics from the same supplier (Kanter) did not help. A search of this site resulted in a picture of two eccentric and one was made wrong in that there was not enough "eccentric". I searched for the correct parts and found them at "Chevys of the 40's" in WA. All is well now but these incorrect parts are being sold by many. They will lead to lots of frustration, especially if your front end guy says "that is the way they were"

By the way, my front end guy is a real "CAR GUY" and has "state of the art" equipment. I guess we are lucky here.

      Patrick,
I just called Chevys of the 40s and ordered 2. When they arrive, I'll compare them to some I have on the shelf to see if there is a difference.
I also inquired where they were manufactured and Dale said they were made in USA.

Great info. I too have the Kanter set-up and can not get the proper camber adjustment. I'll place my order as well and change them out when I get some time. I do my own alignments so I'll check the range of both. Thanks for posting.

I don't think the seals they sent are right (too big, looks like the ones for the rest of the joints) but I have plenty of the right ones.

Just for added info, Paragon has a frontend kit with just the seals only.

I did some measuring today and found that the Kanter piece has over 36% less adjustment than the GM eccentric. That is why I cannot get my Camber into spec.
